A Couple Of Outlaw Brothers at Southern Redbone Days

For the second time in three years Robbie Abrams and Gr.Ch.Nt.Ch. Nighty Nite Little Red Billy has won Overall Champion at Southern Redbone Days. It is hard to do once...but twice!!!
Has anyone ever won it twice with the same dog?
Billy is out of a fantastic cross between Dual Grand Champion, 1993 NRD Overall Champion Outlaw Billy The Kid x Dual Grand Champion 2011 NRD Overall Champion Nighty Nite Amber

...And his brother from another mother....
Gr.Nt.Ch. Moonlight Outlaw Mac only got to hunt Saturday night because neither myself or Adam could make it before then.
But Mac looked good treeing two coons by himself in the bright moonlight to win 1st Place Grand Nite Champion and High scoring dog on Saturday nite. Can't thank Adam and Eli Wingler enough for the time and effort they put into Mac hunting him through the winter in the mountains of western North Carolina. Danny and I appreciate the help and are greatful to count you and Eli as part of our team.
There were three casts of Grand Nites on Saturday.
We drew out with a couple of fine hounds Saturday night....Curtis Cooke with Gr.Nt.Ch. Mack Atack, fresh off of winning the whole danged Grand American with him and Tim Bolin with Gr.Nt.Ch. She's A Firecracker. These are some hard going deep hunting hounds and we had plenty of split trees and lots of walking. it was great to hunt with you fella's and I look forward to seeing you both down the road!
Outlaw Moonlight Mac is out of Dual Grand Champion Outlaw Billy The Kid x Gr.Nt.Ch. Ky Moonlight Kate

Keep an eye out for this young gun...Eli Wingler.
He was a vital part of Mac being tuned up and ready and walked every step on the cast and helped point out the last coon by spotting his ringed tail...so we thought it was only right that he get to take home the hardware to start decorating his room with to kick off what is sure to be a great future in competition hunting!
This is what its all about...the future of our sport rests with the youth so lets support them and teach them right!

Congrats to all involved! That is a heck of a accomplishment to do it twice. And congrats to Shane, Danny and Mac on your win Saturday night. Also to Adam for keeping Mac in great shape, that was a team effort and that is how it is supposed to work. Great job guys!

Oh my goodness, I thought that Robbie and Johnny Biggert were the Nighty Nite brothers. I didn't know that Robbie was an Outlaw too.

Thanks Shane and Artie. Had a blast with Mac and that was a great way to wrap up our time with Mac as he headed back to IN. I suspect he'll miss us...especially Eli.

My family (2 boys and a "tolerant" 😉 supportive wife) come first, plain and simple, so when they're happy joining in on something I enjoy...then I'm happy!

I came from walkers and the occasional English to redbones by way of a heavy push from Eli, otherwise I might not have even looked over that fence...and so far so good. 👍👍

It's now Dual Grand Champion Nighty Nite Little Red Billy...and two time Southern Redbone Days Champion...will he go for a threepeat? Or will his brothers and sister, Moonlight Outlaw Mac, Billy's Redemption or River Ridge Outlaw Storm give him a run for his money!

I couldn't get vacation days this year. Adam and Eli have been giving him and Mac the smokey mountain run down there in western North Carolina all winter so he should be ready for me to start winning with when I swap him back for the Jinx after the spring super stakes in april.

Darn work, it can sure get in the way of coonhunting. Many years ago I couldn't get off work to go coonhunting so I just quit. Work that is, not coonhunting. We will miss you at SRD this year.
