Strike Scoring Question

Dog A Strikes. Dog B Strikes.

Dog A and B tree together. Dog B leaves tree and is Minus. 5 minutes pass, tree is closed. while shining Dog A tree, Dog B comes into the tree and is Handled.

Dog A tree is Minus so Dog A receives Minus Strike and Minus Tree.

Dog B tree position was minus when he left, then he came into a closed tree and per rule 5b he is to not receive minus points unless a coon is seen.

what happens to Dog B strike points? common sense says Minus. I read the rules to say Delete.

Strike points would be circled. Rule 5(b).

Deleted/circled, in UKC, there is really no practical difference.
I think any dog that is handled at a closed tree should be minused strike points regardless of anything else.

Their is a practical difference. Circle points are a tie breaker. You could get beat by a dog that had his strike circled like that. I can live with minus to but it'd be easier to get it changed to delete I think.

it is my Opinion .......

that Dog B should receive the same judgement (plus, minus or circle) on STRIKE as Dog A..

if a dog comes into or leaves an open or closed TREE then his TREE points should be judged accordingly but....

I do not see why if Dog A and Dog B strike the same coon and Dog A pulls up short and then Dog B comes into that closed tree how Dog A Strike is Minus and Dog B Strike is Circled when they both struck the same track. the same is true IF Dog A has a coon and Dog B comes into the closed tree how his strike points are Minus.

His strike points need to be minus. The dog came back to tree after handlers got there. I know ukc says delete but they it needs to be minus.

No, they dont say delete.
