Another hunt ?
Say dogs a and b are treed and on the card. Dog c comes in and starts treeing in same area(likely on same tree) but handler doesn't tree dog. Keep in mind the tree will be closed before the stationary is up. If you was judge would you tell him he had 5 mins to tree his dog.

Yes....most will ask the judge how much time is left on the tree..
ok then he never trees his dog and the dog is on the same tree what would you do? I would minus his strike if coon was seen and minus his tree points if off game or slick. am i think im right.

Was the dog struck before a and b were declared treed?
A dog treeing but not declared treed goes in for next available on off game or a slick tree. How the tree is scored will determine what happens to the dogs points.
If a coon was seen the dog would receive minus strike points (if not shut out) and nothing on tree.
If it's a circle tree the dog would also receive circle strike points only.

Was he treed when the judge got there? A dog not declared treed and obviously treed for5 min. when judge arrives is scratched!

Rule 6(o)
I would suggest you read...Rule 4 {K} "Dogs treeing but not declared treed, when judge arrives, will be minused on off game or slick tree...
Also, Rule 4 {L}....
A handler is not required to tree his dog, but the judge can {as above Rule 6{O}. In this case the judge did not. Also, along these same lines, a handler is required to strike his dog...but not on a split. If the cast wants to split a strike no handler has to be included...he can stay out of it. Obviously, if it is determined that his dog is opening he gets minused. But, he can always stay out of the split and take the next available position.
Remember, winning nite hunts is not about plus points...it's about staying away from those minus points.
As to the actions of the judge...he is not required to tell or "remind" a handler how much time he has to tree his dog, etc. A good judge should do this if he is asked to.
A judge has to be careful about providing times...sadly, it could be said that a judge was showing favoritism if he gives times to one handler but not another, even if done without any intention of shorting someone.
