First free cast: dog hunts hard, second cast: wont leave light
What in the world? On the first turn out she will take off with a purpose. Get struck and treed. If I load her up every once in awhile and take a bout a half mile down she will just look at me and not take off. Has anyone seen this? Shoould I just switch her when she wont leave?
How often do you hunt her? She might be tired. My female does this if not hunted up. But if energy is not the issue I would ignore her till she takes of or walk in a bit and see if she goes.

I noticed you said "every once in a while" you load the dog up for another drop. I don't know how much water this will hold but one thing I try not to do to much is go tree one quick one and put the dog away for the night. Because i do worry he'll get the idea it's game over after he trees one. I know if you have to work the next morning you probably want to make it an early night but I generally try to make three drops for that reason. I don't know if that's the case here or not but I thought it could be a factor.

I don't think the one drop and home is the problem. How old is the dog, did she just start doing this?? Could be a health issue, thyroid maybe.

Not feeling well?
For what its worth, my dog just went thru the same thing. He is a get gone get deep no reverse type dog and on the second drop he refused to hunt. He was also missing a lot of trees on that first drop as well. Someone told me to try an antibiotic for a week and I did. Needless to say he is back. Get gone get deep no reverse no matter how many drops I make. His accuracy is back also. I figured it to be some kind of cold or infection. May not work for anyone else but it did for my dog. Hope you figure it out.

2 and a half. She does it about once in 5 hunts. She was treed super hard and is a radical tree dog. Maybe she was just tired. She will act quirky like that sometimes
thanks chriss
what did you give your dog
It was a generic penicillin called Neurocillin (spell check). 2 cc the first day and 1cc every day after that for a week.
