CoonHunter and Drama

Why does this seem to me the downfall of a lot of clubs and members?
Its always- He said, She said or They should do this or they shouldn't do that.
Come on guys and gals, we are grown ups= leave the drama to school kids.

If your not part of the solution then your part of the problem. Step up and become involved, Be positive, help when able.

"Don't judge someone because they sin different than you"

Did you really get cheated or did you not know the rules as you should have.

All UKC events are held to compete and have a good time with other like minded people. Stick together, fight the Non-Hunters that are trying to stop our rights. not each other.

Shake a strangers hand and give them a smile, you will be surprised at the reaction you will see.

Remember when we were kids and we thought our old yard dog could put a whooping on anything in the neighborhood? Some never grow up and when there dogs doesn't beat yours there must be a reason.

I have always said we would all have a better time if everyone would leave their pride at home.

Most clubs are that way wether it be coon hunting, fishing or a gun club. I think the key is just not to take it personal and lead by example or speak up and say something positive about the person, being referenced.

Just human nature I believe.

I don't think people do enough kind things for one another and it isn't because some don't want to. It is the way the world has become with everyone trying to scurry around and make ends meet. When we don't help one another and do kind things for one another we start to loose respect for one another. Respect is the bond people and friends have that helps them get over ruff spots in their friendship. It keeps clubs running, co-workers happy and families strong.

I have a question I throw out when people talk about so and so having a good dog and how the dog took him to the top of coonhunting. I ask "Did the dog make the man or did the man make the dog"

The same goes along with what we are talking about here. You go to a hunt and feel that winning validates you and makes you something more than you are. Going to a hunt and winning fairly should bring self satisfaction that your hard work and training have paid off. In other words you have done a good job doing what you enjoy doing. PERIOD
At the end of the night that dog winning didn't make you a better man, what you did for the club at the clubhouse, how you treated fellow hunters and what you did to make the night a positive experience for everyone, makes you a better man.

Trust me, if you show people kindness and respect it will become the norm for you and you won't even remember doing it. But I can tell you one thing. They will never forget!!

Had a guy come up and hunt Thrusday night. Haven't seen him in a while as he has been out of town working. We were talking before we went to the woods and he asked me if I remembered the first time I met him. I said I sure don't.
He told me exactly what hunt it was and where it was at. He said it was about 30 years ago when he was just a kid and he was at the clubhouse and no one would take him out on a cast. He said when I heard he was looking for a ride to the woods, I looked him up took him along.
Made me feel good he remembered but more than that, makes me want to do the next kind thing that I won't remember but someone else will!!

There's plenty of Coonhunter drama around here.Mostly arguing over hunting spots and jealousy.Its sad.Most of the crybabies ant got no dog power and need somebody to blame.

This is the main reason I dont go to many hunts anymore
