At the moment, the pond is still frozen solid, but its been raining so it may yet thaw in time for the water race. The field trial will take place regardless of the weather.
Bring the kids. I'll be running the kitchen, so if you want to leave them in the clubhouse while you hunt, I can keep an eye on them.
There aren't that many RQE's this far north and east, so get your dogs qualified for the World early!

is the pond still frozen?
I don't know. I live 60 miles north of the club and everything's thawed out here. I'll call down there on Friday and ask and post the answer here.

pond frozen
half the pond is still frozen pretty solid. there's only a slight chance that we'll be able to break it up enough to swim the dogs.

how was the turn out. who got in. thanks
19 dogs in the hunt 23 in the show don't know who got in
4 casts with plus points. Two tied at 225+; two tied at 200+. Tie-breaker for first was a coin toss. The results are at the clubhouse, but I'll see if I can get someone to give me the names of dogs and handlers in a day or two. As I recall (I was cooking breakfast as they came in) the 1st place win went to one of Duke Proulx' Walkers, handled by a guy from Wallingford CT; 2nd went to a redbone. Gordy from the Unadilla club won one of the other casts--not sure what he was hunting; the other cast was won by a guy with a black and tan from Long Island.
There were also some qualifiers in the bench show, and a fair number of entries in the field trial. The pond was frozen too solidly for the water race. Altogether, there were 61 entries for the 3 events, so turnout was pretty good for us.
