Skunk
My pup caught a skunk on the ground tonight! What is the best way to get rid of the smell? And if he keeps doing it how to break him?

Works 100%
Spray him down with liquid fabric softener and scrub it in like shampoo. Leave it on him don't wash it off. It will take the smell off immediately. Your callers on the other hand will not lose that smell for quite a long time, you might want to get new ones

Carpet so fresh shake the whole can on the dog and rub it into their coat using rubber gloves it wont get it all but you can't hardly smell it on them the next day. Take your collars and put them in a zippy lock bag with it to and lay them in the sun all day and it helps them to
In four years i have been in four skunks, all differant dogs. I don't wash the dog it will wear off after awhile but i figure they can just live with it and maybe they will get tired of smelling it and not go after a skunk again. The collars you will smell it on them for months, not much you can do that will get rid of it. the first coulple of days is the worst then it slowly will fade out
Douche is what I found best to get that stink off
quote:I agree. don't worry about washing it off the dog, it will eventually wear off. Just hang the collars outside for a couple days; the odor will dissipate. Use gloves to remove the collars from the dog, and leave the gloves outside too. Use the fabreze to reduce the smell on your clothes, leave them outside and let them air before you wash them. Tom
