Faulkner or Stephens Curs

Anyone in NC hunt Faulkners or Stephens curs? I have never hunted with one but have been studying on what kind of dog I want to get next and am thinking about trying one.

don't know if they are really much difference in the two. Faulkners tend to be a little larger, some think that they have some hound in them somewhere down the line. I have never personally hunted with a Faulkner cur.

faulkner curs do have hound blood in them and are a little larger. they seem to be good dogs. I like the old school stephens because they are a little smaller. depends on what you like your dog to be like. Gary faulkner is from wisconsin and has hunted all over he did a great job with his dogs.

I like a midsized dog that I will mostly use on coon and some squirrel. A dog that is quick and hunts close. Also, one that is a good companion dog, I shoe horses so I would like one that could ride with me during the day.

you need to try the clements jr line of stephens they are more in line with what you are looking for.

i would say go with the stephens for what you want. they are great family and coon dogs. I had a male that was a part of the family.

Thanks for the input. Can you recommend any kennels in or near NC?

call chad hatfield at 270 246 1810 or 270 286 0076 and order a copy of stephens breeders yearbook. he can probably help you find a breeder near you. i had a fine stephens gyp that i loved, even though she had an aggression issue. she was road killed a few months ago and i'm still grieving her death.

stephen cors

My name is Chris Comer from Indiana and I have owned a couple Stephen curs and loved them. Ive placed in the top five in the world in treeing contests and mine opened on coon tracks which I liked and if you have any questions contact Gary fulkner or Mark Wilson from down aropund Owensboro Kentucky. They always have some great curs and advice to give. Goodluck

Can anyone explain what the clement jr line is like, I would like to try a stephens as well, want one that will stay around the farm and ride with in the truck. Would like to send with the hounds when I run bobcats, want one that is on the smaller side as well with some white.
