Ticks!
Bought a house and the yard is loaded with ticks. Put the preventative on dogs but still finding them. Kids play in yard and come in with ticks. Never seen so many in my life. What kind of pestiside or remidies are out there and effective.

I have three roosters and 15 hens. Still probably get 200 ticks on you if you stand in the yard for 10 mins. These turkey ticks or mites or whatever they are. I need to find something to use myself. Something that won't kill dogs or horses.
There are insect control bags that you can put in your spreader, that you can buy at your local hard ware store. I would apply this early in the morning while the dew is still on the ground. This should take care of your issue, I would try to keep your kids and dogs out of the area, you applied this control for the next 24hrs or so.

I am not of fan of pesticides, they are chemicals that attack the nervous system, many believe they can cause a.d.d in children as well other complications.
But it sounds like you have no choice.
Using a spray on application is more expensive, but is safer to use due to the fact, that it enters the plant faster, and breaks down quicker. Any local landscape company would be able to apply this for you.
or you can buy the hose hook up at your local hardware store.
Another thing that helps is keeping your grass short, this provides less cover.
gunies
get some gunies wont be one left when they get done.
