trackman ?????

like to hear the good and bad about the trackman line

We bred our female out of Dohoney's Dizzy to him...our pups are turning 2 next week....we had 6...as of last year I know 3 out of 6 have won hunts...as of right now I know 4 out of 6 have won hunts...1 should be a grand nitech if UKCfixes a club mistake...mine has been in a handful of hunts and now needs a first to be a nitech.

I worked with mine and my buddies....both were the easiest starting most natural dogs I have ever worked with...my buddy started his early..like 6-7 months...I started mine at 9 months..end of January..our coon season ends mid February and I had over 10 pelts from him and didn't get to hunt every night due to weather in that short window!

The have good mouths...there are a few louder dogs..but typically they are some of the louder dogs..and don't get drowned out..both of ours are easy to call...mine has a good bawl mouth and dying locates and hard chop tree dog...talking blow the top off treeing hard..buddies has a equal mouth like his mother and a great locator and hard chop tree dog...

No trash issues..no accuracy issues...both of ours are good about having a coon..

Noses are fairly hot but they will run a track...last hunt the dogs got bogged down in a swamp...mine was the only one to keep moving it...determined and has the heart...if coon aren't moving well and you don't hear him within 15 mins start walking or driving...


The bad?? I am still looking...I am being completely honest when I say if ever dog I own for the rest of my life start as easy and naturally as they did and turn out as nice as they did I will be a very happy man.....

Not bad on the eyes either..

'PR' Trackman's Dizzy Duke

I have hunted and owned several. Right now I have a bitch by him and out of a Harry female, and two males by Harry semen and out of a Trackman bitch. All three of these dogs are pretty similar in their body, head, and even their eyes are very similiar. I see remarkably similar hunt styles in all of them. Most try decently hard to have a coon. I have dogs that are definately more accurate than them but I have seen tons of dogs who where way more tree happy than any of these are. In my opinion Trackman puts alot of tree power and a clean tree style ( stand on the wood, no jacking etc) I also tend to think that he puts a little bit of laziness in them, it sure ain't coming from Harry LOL! Mine all go hunting pretty good but maybe not as fast and as hard as I would prefer. I have seen some Trackman dogs that had way to much tree and not enough track in them. But I also think alot of that can be attributed to the bloodline of the female. Mine have all been very naturally straight and tree minded. Even as pups none of them have messed at all with fast game and where always looking to get wooded. In my opinion a lot of them are not overly intelligent but they make up for a lot of that in natural ability. Overall I like them the things that I dont like about them other people may love. The fact that I have three dogs right know with him up close should say something. I do like all of them but I will say that none of them will ever be the best or my favorite dog I have ever owned but they are all good dogs. And they all can tree a coon and look pretty good at it, the thicker the coon they get put in the better they look. The thinner the coon get the more I wish they had a little less Trackman in em and the more Harry I wish they had. TRACKMAN=tree power, naturally straight, kinda lazy. HARRY= get in the dark, track power, independence. This is all just my personal opinion and my first hand experiance with my own dogs and dogs I have hunted.

I've owned at least 5 dogs that were directly off of Trackman or grand pups to him and have seen and hunted with many more. I think a lot of what you end up with offspring wise depends on the female bred to him.

I haven't seen any outright lazy Trackman dogs but I have seen harder hunting dogs in other lines. Based on my experience and in talking with many others who have had Trackman dogs the general consensus is Trackman definately puts much more treeing than tracking ability into his offspring.

Overall I'm not terribly impressed with Trackman dogs and won't own another.

Dog Up!
Shorty is LOUD,LOUD and PROUD

I have owned several dogs off of Trackman. The female seems to play a big part in the traits the pups have.. I have a 5yo All Grand male off of him and a Harry X Abby female that finished to Grnite at 11mo and has around 100 Pkc open event cast wins.. He is loud, consistent, and has a lot of drive to him.. I also have a 6yo female off of him and a Sunrise female that is the total opposite. She is loud but she checks the tree a lot and is slow to tree.. Once again my experience is the dam has a lot to do with the traits..

Ive only had one so heres what ive seen.Good lookin and smart.Screamin bawl on track. Very fast accurate locator.Loud tree dog.Can tree any kind of coon from layups,to cold tracks.Opens accordin to the track.The bad ive seen is she dont take a scoldin to good and cant take the hot humid nights too good.I cant either so owhell.There not perfect but the one I got has got style.She will be at my house till she dies.Hope this helps
