Garmin Guru's

Can any one inform me if Garmin is trying to design a collar that does not have a shocker built in for the Alpha? Was just wondering if they were trying to help the nite hunters and make it to where it could be used in a nite hunt.

People accuse me of being color blind. The truth is I will hunt red ones, blue ones, black and white ones, yellow ones, black and tan ones, or even brindle ones; Just as long as they are English!

All I know is that I was a field tester for the 320 and have not been asked for more testing. The engineer on that project told me that my name was still on the list for future testing.

As far as I know they are not working on that type of collar. I asked they told me you can just take the contacts off the collar if you don't want to use the shock part.

I was not aware that was an option. I do not own a alpha yet and that is the reason why is nite hunts. So if you remove the contacts it is UKC legal? Would you still not have the toner which might make it illegal?

Technically it is always legal in UKC, you just can't carry the Alpha with you in the woods. Leave it in the truck and you are fine.

Even with the prongs removed you still can't carry the Alpha with you, it has to be left in the truck.

Removing the contacts doesn't change a thing as far as UKC is concerned.

I would say this is because you can still tone them.
