world hunt

When is the actual world hunt? I'm confused on how it works in ukc.

232 views and no one knows the answer? I assume the zone hunts get you qualified for the world hunt?? I dont know, but what is the date of the actual UKC world hunt

Actually they have qualifying hunts all spring and most of the summer. Then in Sept. they have the zone hunts. That was this past weekend. They have 7 different zones across the country that you can attend any one you want once your qualified. Then the dogs that make it through zones go to the finals this weekend. And this year that's in Shreveport La. Little over 100 dogs will be going on I think.

Think i'm right and hope that that helps ya.

Thank you thats what I was wondering...So the zones are sort of like the quilifying events to actually get to hunt in the world hunt.

They're elimination events for those already qualified. The first "round" of the World hunt.

OHHH got ya...thank you. So if your qualified for the World, you have to hunt the zones, and you aint hunting in the big show if you dont win at the zones...I think i got it..lol.

You have to hunt and place high enough in a RQE hunt to advance to a zone hunt and then place high enough in your zone hunt to then qualify for the world. It's starts with a lot of dogs and ends with only 1 dog at the top. It takes a top dog a very good handler and luck.

I have definantly hunted more pkc hunts than ukc hunts really only because I enjoy the hour hunts they have through the week.
