Hunting around Reelfoot Lake

Has anyone ever hunted at or around Reelfoot Lake in the upper western corner of Tennessee? If so how is the hunting? Thanks for any info. Junior

Never hunted there myself but there is some good hunting there. There are also some huge snakes and the climate here is so wishy washy I myself don't chance it. Lot's of swamps and lots of bottoms.

I was up there last night. Make sure if you're hunting anywhere close to the lake, that you go with someone that knows where everything is at. You can turn loose into the prettiest woods you ever seen, and your dogs be in the lake within 150 yards. When they get in the lake, you usually go get a boat (if you can find a boat and a place to put in) or they stay until they're ready to come out. However, if you manage to stay in woods, there's good hunting and plenty of coons.

Hey MOH,
My brother in law and I come up twice a year for a little fishing trip and I always thought about coming up for a coon hunt. How close are you to the airpark? That is where we usually stay. Maybe we could meet up there next time I come up?

By the way where in world do you go to find crappie on that lake? We were thinking about getting a guide next time we come up, but some inside info could help! Thanks -Steve

Gablefan, I live about 50 to 60 miles from the air park. You should
be able to catch Crappie most anywhere on the lake, but give me a call and I can get more info for you before you come.
