Bud,

I saw this picture on Hunt101 last week and then showed it to a friend. He said "it's a set-up, someone caught all those coons and put them in that tree just for the photo".
Personally, I'd like to believe the pic is real, hard to believe that someone would go thru so much trouble just for one pic. Do you know the history of this picture? Is it real or a set-up?

A friend of mine

told me a few years ago that he and the group he was hunting with shot six grown boar coons out of the same tree one night. I have no idea why that many boar coons would be running together. It's very unusual for me to see more than two or three coons in the same tree.

Hey BDM-

do you think 1946 was before they brought in some "Outside" blood?

I bet he was silent and rounded those little critters up and put them all in that tree thinking he was going to get 2050 POINTS!

Old Timer

I don't think the fella with that blue dog would have been wanting a silent dog for the purpose of getting points back in '46.

I've been waiting for you to comment on the Redbone or Cur question by Christy.

Well, it's her hound and if she's happy that's all that counts. The little I know about the Redbone breed I would just be guessing. But I don't think there's any Dob in it, what do you think?

OT

I know you know the Redbone breed. You answered my question. Yes, I think it would be safe to say there is no Dob. there.

i don't know the history of the picture but when i first seen it i figured it was during the time they where restocking coon and them guys thought "wouldn't ol' dopey look good on that tree,go get him and bring a camera we'll keep them up till you get back" but i guess anything is possible.
