2 Garmin DC30's different results
I have two DC30 collars, both relatively new. One is about 6 months old, the other is maybe 3 months.
I updated the older collar to software version 3.60. The newer collar came with, and still has 3.40. I also changed both their ID's to the lower frequencies (just tried 2 and 4). Also tried other combos of frequencies. Before I upgraded the older collar, results were pretty much the same.
The newer one always outperforms the older one. The older one drops off a lot sooner, and also takes a lot longer to pick back up. This is very consistent. It happens every single time.
I can place both in the same position outside. Drive away with the 220 and the results are always the same. The older collar drops off way before the newer one.
Anyone else have this happen w/ different collars? Do some DC 30's just outgperform others?
Seems to me, if I am not doing something wrong, this is a quality control issue.
I have seen the antenna go bad or have a bad conection at the recever the aftermarket makes new ones that should last longer it is called Tuff-Skin Antenna conkeysoutdoors.com sells them for $15
Id #'s are too close at 2 and 4. Try 2 and 7 you will see a difference. Ya gotta keep the id farther apart.
