Another Dang Garmin ?
I did multiple searches and cant find my answer.
I have a garmin that aint working properly. The unit is inconsistant when it hooks up to the collars. I know the collars are fine cause they all work well with my other unit. The collars will hook up together and then for no apparent reason lose signal. The unit will lose connection for about 20 mins then for no reason the unit will get signal again. Any ideas?
I already added and deleted the collars many times.
Maybe the unit/collars of yours just don't like Walker dogs?

Your collar ID#s are probably messed up.They work on the 2nd GPS because it added them with a different ID# (maybe different by 1 number) This is VERY common when using the collars on different GPS units. Reset both GPS units and then add the collars to the second one manually.(do not touch to add on)
To Reset your GPS and add them back on.
Turn the GPS off
Hold in the map button and the enter button at the same time
while holding them in, press the on/off button
a message will come up (do you really want to reset GPS)
enter on yes
wait a couple and it will come back on,
Then add the collars back on..
This will erase any marked locations you may have.
when adding the collars back on. (remember id#!!!)
on the 2nd GPS when time to add collars(after reset)
go to dog list
enter on add new
it asks can you touch handheld to collar, Enter no
it will ask do you know ID#? enter yes and follow instructions to add collar.
Make SURE ID# is the same on both GPS and you should have no more problems.

Adding and deleting collars many times makes the ID #'s change...this is the problem

Just
sent one back last week for one of my buddy's. His was doing the same thing. His would lose signal at 150yds or further. Garmin told him to return it. I sent it off last Tues. they got it on Thursday and he had a brand new one on Tues. Pretty good turn around if you ask me. Hope this helps. Far as the collars changing channels they are made to do that so them being added and deleted shouldn't have bother your unit.

If you look at the available ID #'s list you WILL see a lot of #'s are no longer on the list. This is from adding and removing. reset and give it a try, what do you have to lose?
There is nothing wrong with the collars if they work on one GPS and not another....
