Off Topic
My youngest sure has the trapping fire this year. For Christmas he got 3 110 bodygrip traps for muskrat, 1 #11, and 1 #1 stop-loss trap. He has just been dieing to set those traps. He managed to talk dad into walking a 1/2 mile to a very small ditch that we hadn't set this year. Usually the water level is too low for under the ice trapping.
He set his 3 110s on Saturday and got 2 out of 3 on Sunday.
So far this year he has accounted for at least 25 rats and 3 mink. Now, I just need to get him out and shoot a coon, squirrel, rabbit, and hopefully a turkey this spring. A dad's work is never done!

That's awesome! Tell him I said great job. Next to coon hunting, trapping 'rats is my favorite hobby. Can't wait 'til my son gets to set a few with me next year!

I heard the rat prices are pretty good this year. So far his season catch would amount to a nice little fur check for a young kid !

Larry, I don't know how you can call this off topic. What you are doing with your children is the best topic that anyone can post. You sure should be proud. With parents like you, I know we can all feel a little better about our future.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. As you all know time is a limiting factor, and fortunately I have many good friends that are very willing to help.
I have to admit though the passion a young person develops is warming to the soul just to watch.
