Tom Up

(video, that black blaze jumping at that lion is my black plott dog Maverick)

I had to do a little lion hunting last month because bear season was closed. On this hunt, I started five dogs on a tom track and three dogs treed this nice tom lion and two others put up a female. All I could figure was that tom trailed into a female kill and the dogs split? Like ol' Forrest Gump said, "life is like a box of chocolates cause you never know what you're gonna get." Gotta love it!

But as luck would have it, bear is back open now and a guy can run either........ol' Gump was correct about life and the box of chocolates!

Thanks, glad you, your son and everybody else enjoyed it
cjtippens. I did a couple Hound dog videos a few years back and sold them, and the kids seemed to like them alot, as I have had lots and lots of comments.

While we were in Iowa

My parents just got internet at their house. I was looking at a bunch of your pictures and had to show them all to dad. He was impressed at the country and game that you hunt. He couldnt imagine what treein a bear or a cat would be like. As close as he has ever been to a hound hunt was when I took him out with my beagles for a rabbit hunt. Thanks for the time you put into your pictures and the stories.

And thank you for the comments Blaine. I'm glad to see your family get online and also glad your father enjoyed the photos. To me, that's one of the good things about the Internet, and that is we can share stories, information and photos.

Best of luck,
ike
