Yamaha Rhino 660 (2006)

Anybody own one of these? And if so, has anyone ever ran a snowplow on theirs? I am seriously considering one but wanted to make sure it was a good investment, seeing as how the money is nothing to sneeze at.


Any other opinions, concerns, or voices I need to know of?

I do have one and like it alot. I agree they are a little bit loud. The one thing you want to watch is sticks comin up though the floor board. We hunt off of the one we have at least 3 nites a week. We go just about everywhere we can go with no problems. Be safe and you can have alot of fun and a great tool to have around the house and woods.

Hey Bryan,
Does your Rhino have the rev limiter on it? If so, do you know if it is factory pre-set, or can I adjust it? My buddy has a Polaris RZR, and I know my rhino will never keep up, but I would like to adjust it a little if at all possible.

i have one and will never own another 4 wheeler to hunt of again. They are a little narrower than other buggys but drive with common sense and u wont turn it over, heck you can fli a pick up truck cutting the wheel and turning at 40 mph. Yeah they all have a factory limiter on them but it can be removed and replaced with one that dont cut the motor out and will run 60 mph and that is too fast, i left mine on. Its job is to get me in the woods then out and i dont need speed to do that. i never drive over 10-15 mph through the woods anyway, any faster and you couldnt dodge the trees.

You can get a CDI box from the dealership and it will take out the rev limiter. can change the exhaust and change the clutch which will all increase speed considerably. It is louder than most b/c the air intake is up high on your arm rest, but thats also a good thing b/c unlike most other models...the computer and air intake are above seat level and not under your seat. Which means as long as water doesn't get over your seat then your motor is not ruined but could still be stranded if belt gets wet. The rhino is a pretty tough machine in and out and i'm not bragging b/c we have the arctic cat prowler and i regret it.

I would not worry about keeping up with the razor.kinda like racing a z71 with a baja truck. it is built on a totally different platform than the other side-by-sides. it was meant for sport riding not utility. the rhino does seem to be the most nimble of the utility type machines.

I have had my Rhino a week now, and more and more every day I am liking it. Took a little getting used to because all I've had in the past were screamin' demon type 4-wheelers, but with a little age and a few life altering crashes my wife said NO MORE of those kind and that I HAD to get something with seatbelts and a roll cage. So I did, and am now actually learning how to enjoy a whole nother type of rec. vehicle. Thanks for all your inputs, I was just curious as to what all I should be expecting and looking at it in a whole different light.

i have the kubota rtv 900 diesel this machine is awsome/great mileage all the power you could want and its build verystrong. a dog bow for a small truck slides rite in the back and also has a dump bed. i looked at the john deere(joke) the polaris(ok) but werent even close to the kubota. jmo

I looked them too before buying the Rhino. Main contributing factor for me on the Rhino vs. Kubota RTV.....$$$$ and a lot of it.

Good machine though, I agree.
