Where the Red Fern Grows......

Well last night I decided it was time to introduce my boy to the greatest dog movie of all time,the one that would jump start his coon hunting bug,after a hour search around town I found it at the Big Lots of all places in the VALUE BIN how dare they,well after he proudly carried the case around for a bit pointing to the dogs I popped it in and................

He didn't even make it to see Dan and Ann!!!lol he flatlined about 20 min into the movie!!!

My 4 yr old will watch where the red fern grows as often as you will let him. he especially loves when it shows the dogs hunting. Did you get the origional or the remake? I have the remake with Kris Kristofferson doing the voice over.

the coon they used in the movie was a 3/4 grown pet kitten that belonged to a friend of mine Ronnie Cox in Oklahoma..

Ron was a teen and said it was a blast watching em make the movie but he didnt think it was right that they used his coon and wouldnt put Ron in the movie.. LOL

I get teary eyed just THINKING about the movie... Bob and I didn't see it till we started coming on this forum. As a City kid it is a book (and movie) that had escaped me...
That is the sweetest picture of your son... Hope you watch the movie a FEW times together over the years and then... with his children someday too!
