Hounds For Squirrel Dogs??
how many people have used a hound for a squirrel dog. ive owned several cur dogs but would like to try a hound hound for squirrel hunting. i hunt black dogs but i feel they have to cold of nose's for the job. i was thinking of trying a walker or plott line that is smaller built dog with a hotter nose. ive seen several walkers and plotts that where squirrel champs. just lookin for imput on a future project. THANKS

u must have a totaly different line of black dogs than we have here bc ive not saw a black 1 that could smell somethin in front n years. i have a really cold nosed walker that i squirell hunt and he show me all i need to see but he is silent and that helps him a lot

squirrel hunting
I hunt black & tans, and start them out on squirrel's. Hunt them on them till their ready to start coon hunting, it's a lot of fun! I would try any breed I wanted to, and good luck.

ive owned 2 black dogs that would tree the heck out of squirrel. im looken for something that will only run a hot track and not go out there and grub up an old squirell track all day
