Dewclaw removal

...be sure if you are going to do it to do it IMMEDIEATELY... I know the AKC BnT show dogs have the FRONT ones removed RIGHT away, although some breeders are now keeping them on. Just don't wait.... or you can have some problems.
good luck, HappyHunting, Heather

Well I hate to tell ya but Rear Dew Claws are a Big Falt in Hounds and the Org. of Rear Dew come from something you do not want to be Reproducing !! They come from some Mastic line which may have been an Accidental Breeding or something other.. I have been seeing more and more of this and the Breed Assoc. Needs to find where it started.. JMO

I see alot of the double rear dew claws coming from dogs heavy in Stylish Queen breeding. Alot show up in Clover dogs. Was it a mistake to breed them?

I was just wondering for health issue. I didn't know if they have a better chance of tearing them off. And as far as reproducing. There mother is a darn good tree dog. I would hate to think of the all the champions that may have been born with dew claws. good thing they didnt stop reproducing. Thanks for your input.

I think a lot of the Stylish dewclaws can be traced through Queen to Stylish Banjo. I have heard John Wick mention seeing a lot of them from him. I personally like to see them even if most people want to get rid of them. When I see them I more likely than not see an above average hound. A lot of people don't want to see old influences show up. Sometimes we could use a shot of em.
