Stats Dont Lie

I decided to keep track for the year the number of nights hunted, number drops, coons treed, den trees, slick tree and few other categories on each dog I hunt and just over all total of my hounds. So far in 7 night hunting I have walked to 15 trees with on 1 slick tree. Some have been dens but over all been pleased in some ways and disappointed in others. But I think this will give me some good info to judge my dogs on. And how much time and how many nights actually hunt a year. Sure will be fun to see numbers after a full year on each of my dogs. Might not want let wife know just how many night I actually do hunt.

you counting dens as plus . zero or minus, I use zero but my friend uses minus and one uses plus lol

I used to track "trees with coon seen". I didn't care about dens, circles, maybes or slicks.
When the dog treed it went down as a tree. If I found coon it was good if no coon seen it went against him. It's kind of tough way to score it but if you are honest enough to do it over 4 or 5 months you will know what your really hunting.

Problem is most folks aren't honest enough with themselves.

WHY WUD A DEN TREE COUNT AGAINST HIM ..THE DOG.. WHY ISNT IT MINUSED IN A HUNT ... ITS A CIRCLE ..AND I DONT COUNT THAT AS A SLICK...

I'm a coon hunter. When a dog trees , either I can kill a coon or I can't.
!Plus or minus , no excuses !
That's why it's so hard to find a real coon dog , too many people want to make excuses !

My pup made 4 dens the other night. Old accurate bone dog would not cover. I guess those Dens had coon in em. +3 for her lmbo. That's why they go against em. As many are empty as have coons. Probably more. You'll not see a sure nuff stomp down accurate coon dog even make many dens besides about this time of yr. Then it's not as many as others will.

I count them neutral or circle. 3 out last 4 coon I treed has been in den tree but on out side. Saw 2 inside 2 different den tree last week. Been haveing some long hot races that end in den trees. LOTS den trees around here. I tree way more dens around here than any where else I go. I like see these hounds that tree so many on outside come hunt around here for lil while see how there numbers stack up this time year around here.

I have squalled lots and lots coon down out of tree but never had one come out of tree. Saw few pass by a hole or look out but never come alway out. But I don't squall at dens much hate to encourage a dog if they are wrong. That really cool video!

Reread the last line of my post!

As I stated in the post I only count the coon I see. Den trees may or may not have a coon so why would you say there was a coon that you didn't see.

If you count the coon seen you will have a real accurate count of coons you know your dog treed.
When folks start counting dens in favor of a dog, they start plusing up every hole on a tree.
