Slick tree question

I was wondering what most people thought caused a dog to tree empty?I have a dog that has been accurate for a long while and now has went on a spree of making empty trees.what could have changed that made her forget how to be accurate?

Has she developed any other habits or unusual behavior?

All dogs go through stages the difference is do you allow it leaves are off now if the coons not there correct her.

No other unusual behaviors, she locates same as she always has. Not a leaf issue, i found her coon with leaves on. I dont kill any more to her in the fall than i do in the summer.I switch her off the slicks but she never re strikes close like the track went on. Puzzled

If your weather has turned cold could be the problem . Some have tracking issues when the frost flies . Switch her and send her on.

This......and sometimes they learn to grab a tree to avoid correction, especially if it's an animal that don't climb. The dog knows you like it when she trees.
One of the most common reasons an older dog {or at least older than what it is being hunted with} will do it is jealousy...are you hunting this dog with any other dogs???? Even if she has been hunted with them before or even for a period of time, they can sometimes get real jealous of another dog and start grabbing trees.
Young dogs just getting started are one thing, but I am always suspicious of a veteran doing it. There is almost always a reason, I mean, the coon cannot take the dog to an empty tree. So, either it's off game or the dog is lying.

I have not seen any squirrel or mink in the trees either.she has been missing alone.
