Whelping Box
Could I gets some pic. an measurements on some thanks for any help
.
Best one I had was a 4x4 with open front with about a 4 inch high lip in the bottom front. I took a 2x4 and went around the inside about 4 inches up to allow the pups room to be behind mom to keep them from getting smashed against wall. I have seen PVC also used which we used one like that for our Yorkies when we raised a litter. We purchased that whelping box off line and it was made from that white PVC corrugated material with PVC rail. The 4x4 I had I used outside. I am raising a litter now and I put a 8x8 pen in my garage and keeping the mom in there with pups and she has the whole pen to lay in and didn't use a whelping box as it is all enclosed from the weather. Doing good so far at two weeks of age. Lost two the first day but she has 8 out of 10 growing fast.
Google whelping box image and you will get a hundred of them to look at. Good luck with your pups.
Google it I got plans for mine on there.it is awesome

Krocket let me take it one step further. Your doing an excellent thing by looking for a good whelping box. Like everything else in life you get that figured out and it is outdated. Two weeks after birth they are starting to walk around and by three weeks trying to run. Plan your area for that now as the whelping box is almost outgrown and you haven't used it yet.
I have seen a lot of things in my life and I am use to most of them. But a good mother cleaning up after her pups is natural and they do a wonderful job. You need to help them all you can by have a good surface area that is clean for her and her pups.
I would love to have others opinion on the pups bedding area surface and I think that is second in importance to the
Whelping box.
If you text me your number I can send you pics of my box and attached pen.
Shawn 814-619-9097. It's 4x4 with a 4x8 pen I used 3 inch pipe on J hooks for easy cleaning in the box.

Ferrari had the coolest ones ive seen so far.......idk what the brand was but they were round and I think heated. message or call him and he could prob tell you.
myself, for the whopping 4 or 5 litters total ive ever raised, always used either one of the 12x12 horse stalls ( we have 6), a kids swimming pool, or my favorite an airline crate.

I always use kids swimming pool, put in my hunting room with colapsible fence around it. had couple litters in real bad heat is why do it that way. also family can keep eye on em and socialize. neither female ever wanted to leave pups.
