North Carolina Cats
I have been doing some reading and research on cat hunting with hounds lately and it has intrigued me. I was wondering if anyone in NC had had any luck on cats. I know we have a decent population of them but personally do not know anyone who is running them.

Several NC cat hunters on there. Its more popular on the eastern side.
I have ran a few with my tree dogs but due to lack of experience in my pack it's been incredibly difficult locating in the pines. Hopefully with more time they will start locating better

I have never hunted that area. I am from near Charlotte. I have ran a little down around Whiteville. Y'all probably have more cats down that way I would imagine, since there are more game lands and larger chunks of timber down that way.
There are a few here lol ton of cat hunters here

I'm about a hour north if you just off I-77 I dont know that there's enough around my area to hunt but I plan to have decent coyote hounds buy next season wanting to use my current blueticks I'd try cats if they came across one lol if you decide to start maybe we can run together I plan to break my dogs off deer and the rest(coyote bear coon cat) will be fair game we have a healthy coyote population I do have a female that I traded on and she was being run on bear when I got her he said she will pull hair

I got new blue dog yesterday from Vermont to bear hunt He said she would run cats and been hunted on cats I'm just waiting on the snow to fall to find a track and turn her loose then maybe I'll report later.
I live in Troutman but my families farm is just north of Harmony so I am fairly close to you. I am supposed to be getting a old style leopard pup in the next few months and I am just going to use it as a meat dog. I have really gotten interested in coyote/fox running here lately and am planning on starting getting into that a little.. Stay in touch I would love to get together and run the dogs sometime.
