RIP - McCoy's Red Dotty, Condolences to Dennis McCoy

I'd like to take a moment to extend my condolences to Dennis McCoy on the loss of his redbone female DOTTY. I had the pleasure to judge Dotty when he was attempting to finish her to CH and can still remember him winning Opposite Sex in the hunt at the Zone 4 Redbone Hunt in Wilson.
Dotty was a casualty of the road, It's a sad fact that every time we unleash a hound we do not know what the outcome will be.
Dennis is a great guy, he has had many good hounds over the years, hopefully his pup ZEA from his cross of Dotty to Haze will serve as a replacement for Dotty as she matures.

Dennis and Dotty

Dennis sorry to see that you've lost dotty. i hate hunting some of my spots for fear of the same thing.. try to hunt them later at nt. but seem like they go faster. some may slow down if you flash a light , but not all. Any how we have females off her & i like red dot. went to ohio to hunt deer (archery ) & should have left my bow at home & took my dogs. dot was glade to see me back.had trouble cleaning her run. just wonted me to fuss over her. hope you have good luck with your young female. hope to have pictures of dot soon

Dennis, Dottie must have gotten run over that night after we talked. I hate that happened. Maybe my male out of Dottie and Haze will make something and you can use him. He goes hunting about everynight. We will have to see. I have been lucky over the years and have only lost one to the road. So sorry.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. To me, Dotty was a good coondog that offered a lot of enjoyment. I'm thankful that she left her memory in four pups almost a year ago. These offspring offer a lot of potential that I am excited about. It will be fun in the future hunting the female that I have from her as I hope it will be for the others.
