How long do you need to wait till you can hunt a dog after she has pups?

You can mess her milk production up by letting dirt and bacteria in her teats. Not to mention if you loose her then your in a mess raising pups.

Im sure Ill get blown out of the water for that but thats how I feel because Ive lived it. You must have thought enough of her to breed her, so why not let her finish what you started and raise her litter.

Be sure to let her wean them and dry up good I raised a litter off my ntch female and put her in a hunt before she dried up and cut her self up pretty bad

When you wean the pups tie the female to a fence once a day for three or four days and let the pups suck her out good for about ten minutes once a day. Then wait about another week for her to draw up some and start hunting her then.

Agreed ... Will hunt them in heat but not with pups.

Also rub teats down good with bag -a- balm when you wean them and some vicks hepls to , gets them tightened back up faster...

Me I most always hunt a female I never let it bother me hunting a dog nursing depending on the weather I have hunted as early as when the pups are six days old I been lucky I guess I have never had a problem each to his own you know your dog and the situation better than anyone else and there is nothing wrong with not hunting them either

My female used to run up in the woods by the house and get treed every night I let her out to go to the poddy all the way from 4-5 days old until they were weaned. She placed at BBCHA spring hunt while her pups were 4.5 weeks old. Teets rubbed raw from the tree...
