Hi-Tek Rations Intimidator 31-21

My friend at the feed store gave me a bag of this to test drive. Really meat protein heavy, no corn, gluten or wheat.

Anyone use it?

I feed Victory now but Hi-Tek Intimidator. Was the best feed I ever feed but they stopped selling it around here.

Well the feed stores are getting pressure to carry "better" foods and the same company makes some expensive grain free food.

I have the kennel on Dr. Tim's but I will try this bag on one dog that seems to like the palatability of by products a bit better.

I have heard people say the same thing about it.

Ive been feeding it for years - 31/21. At one point I would have sworn by it but within the past year they have kind of pissed me off! For one got a whole pallet in and after filling up some barrels at the kennels realized it was taking too many bags to fill the barrel - they had switched to 40 lb bags from 50 without me or anyone including the dealer knowing but kept the price the same! Same bags everything but when I looked closer they just had little 40 stickers over the old 50.... I raised hell and everyone else must have also because then they decided to give little bs $1.50 coupons and within a few months were back to the 50s. The next thing they did was start changing and moving the ingredients! I know at least 3 times in one year. Now they have 2 kinds of rice in the top 3 ingredients with the addition of white rice. . I finally decided I was going to try something else and we got a semi local victor distributor and with all the people swearing by that decided thats what id try. Been feeding it for a little over 2 months. So far I cant notice any difference at all maybe having to feed slightly more of the victor to keep the same condition but not much really. Just called to order more victor and they are talking about an 8 per bag price increase even by the ton! So even as much as hi tech pissed me off I may go back to the intimidator. before this increas the victor was already right at .12 per pound higher anyway and I dont see any signs
At all that the victor is any better for the dogs and certainly cant feed lesss than the intimidator.

Prices have gone up so I started buying direct and I split a 50 bag skid at the club. Just imagine getting 5 - 6 guys to agree on feed?

We settled on Dr. Tim's Pursuit 30/20 and Momentum 35/25.

We couldn't be happier and direct at $1lb it is a steal.

I got this bag of Intimidator free and I will try it out.

Victor 30/20 by me retail is about the same as Dr. Tim's 30/20 on the 50 bag deal.

All the top sled dog teams are using Dr. Tim's and lots of the Shorthair trial guys.

Ive never even heard of those two around here. Where are you at? The intimidator has been costing me right at .63/lb.

I am in NJ. Dr. Tim's is easily availble in Virginia, I know some breeders that buy the 35/25 for the bitches. If your local store deals with Zeigler's then you can order it.

It is very expensive at retail though and the 44# bags are only available on direct orders.

I have some intact shorthairs, males, intact, 65lb on 2 cups, 2.5 cups they gained too much weight.

I wouldn't use it without the direct deal, even though it is a tremendous food.

Intimidator is about $.80lb plus tax , so for just for a little more I get the Dr. Tim's.

Inukshuk also has direct pricing, that is a darn good food too.

I have just about finished up what I had left of the victor and I am going back to the intimidator. After feeding the Victor for awhile there is just no comparison at all! My main dogs look rough! Especially the pointers which have always been harder keepers than any of my hounds. I kinda hate to say it though..... over the years I have tried just about everything at one time or another or at least the main brands until I found the intimidator. I just haven't found anything that keeps them up as well when they are really being pushed. I did check around here on the dr. Tims but it was way more expensive - like $58/30lb a special order and by the pallet. I would have to feed less than a third to even come close to what I pay for the intimidator at ~$30/50lb. Im surprised more guys aren't feeding it to their hounds. So many jumped on the EA wagon and I honestly don't think there is any comparison in those two either.

Dr. Tim's? Email the company for a price sheet ask for Wendy. Wendy@drtims.com I just bought a 50 bag pallet of 44lb bags for the NAVHDA group and delivered the 44lb bags were $45 each so like $1lb, no tax. They have a direct selling program.

Petflow.com has the 44lb bags too, free shipping and no tax for $60. Even on Petflow, its not more expensive than Pro Plan.

The Intimidator food is a real exception to the "cheap feed" that I have tried over the years. No comparison to the others.
