Male Collection Just Made !!

I collected one of my Males "Crocket" and this Photo is at a Dilution of 1:20 ( 1 micro ML of Semen to 20 micro ML of Hot H2O )

I tried to Count them at 1:10 dilution but it was Impossible

Want to Guess how Many Spem per ML ??? Hint its Well Over 1,000,000,000 ...

He had a avj. of 24 sperm per 1/16 so thats 24 x 16= 384 x 25= 9,575 per sq 1 mm x 4= 38,300 x 2,500= 95,750,000 Mil. x 20 dilution Factor= 1,915,000,000 Billion .. Nearly 2 Billion Sperm per ML ..

I need to Dilute this down to 200,000,000 Sperm per Ml with the Freeze Media then place this in .5 ml Straws .. So around 9 Straws ..

I didn't follow how you figured the sperm amount per ML.
Also what is the best Extender you use?
Thanks,
Jeremy

This Link shows how to count with the Hemacytometer

http://www.animal.ufl.edu/hansen/pr...macytometer.htm

The Sqaires you see in the Photo above are the 1/16ths in the Center ..

What ever you can count in one of those squaires is X 20 ( dilution Rate )

Extenders .. This is what I have been Using ..

Mr. Morrow

I have a male that I would like for you to collect and store for me. I have been plumb covered up with work and trainning season. I am closing out one job and starting a few more. I am hoping I can plan a trip over to your place before Dec.

He is a extreamly nice male and will be 2 yrs of age around the 14th of this Dec. I have a female in heat right now that I am trying to breed naturally but not having much luck. She is 8 and never been bred. I have tried quite a few times without luck. If no luck by tommarow I may need your assistance in that if you are interested. She will be on he 8th day tommarow. I know it's her and not the males, I have tried several different experenced males over the yrs and no luck.

She is so hatefull toward small animals she may not raise them anyways. Maybe mother nature is tring to tell me something. Her mother was not a good mother either, I hand raised her and her brother from day one of birth. I doubt that has anything to do with not getting her breed, but it may be a factor in her raising pups, along with her age.

As far a being a good dog she is rock solid without many faults, she will play out the rest of her days here at the house. Maybe 8 is to old to breed to her anyways. She looks 12, she has many miles on her and has trainned many dogs over the yrs. She is a full littermate to the dog I called you about a little over a yr ago with a twisted gut. I sure miss him.

Yea Right ... LOL

They Looked really Good .. I would only guess it was in the 90% range ..

The only reason the Tails are curled on some was that the Hot water to Shock them causes that .. Funny thing I left that Sample on the Slide for about a 1/2 hour .. I took one more look at them and about 20% Came back to life, I shouted for the Wife to Look at it, I could not believe after the High Temp Shock their was anything moving .. I shocked them at 140^ ..

I haven't done the Thaw test on That Freezing yet but when I do I'l post a Video of it
