not sure where ironton is but the hunting has been good in central ohio so far. its getting tough now with the moon and cold. last night i treed 5 den and 1 coon. thats to be expected in december though. good luck

Thanks for the info im hoping its a good trip ive been out to ohio once in my time and it was unreal how many coons we looked at compared to here in va where i live
as long as you have a dog that goes hunting, you'll be fine. like he said, the weather is changing, but you still tree coon here. ironton is a little rougher than here. i like the flat land !!!

I hope you have a good time while in Ohio. That being said I feel compelled to let you know that the Ironton area is some of toughest terrain to hunt in Ohio. I live about 2 hours north east and it is rough here too but I think the Ironton is just a little steeper. Also you won't have the big coon population down there that you see in central to northern Ohio. However it has been my experience that coons a a little easier to tree in the steep hills than they are in the flat land, when the temp. drops and the north winds start to howl. Good Luck and keep us posted how well your hunts go.

last night started decent. it was nice before the moon got up. we killed 6 early but after that it was worthless. den after den after den. yeah buddy, u need to come to this flat land and hunt. theres a lot of public ground around central ohio. ive never hunted it but it looks good.
