Light problems

Do any of you guys ever have problems with the wires in these belt lights breaking or the solder holding the wires to the switch melting? I have bought two lights in the past year and the same problem with both. Two different manufacturers one is a 5100 head the other is a popular LED head. I just keep reading about people that get 8-12 years from a light with no problems and i cant even get 1 year without being left in the dark, then coming home and resoldering the connections. IMO these manufacturers need to pay closer attention to the construction af these $400 outfits.

had my light 4 yrs no prob but got a spotlight and last fall tracked a deer a buddy shot and it over heated after a half hr with it on. but how often do u have to use a spotlight longer than 10 min unless u blow a bulb while hunting?

I think this is a problem with all belt lights - it is very simple there is not protection for the batteries. If you are looking for durability and battery protection get a box light - they don't take up an entire side on your belt and they protect the batteries. However, if you are looking for comfort and don't want to scratch the door panels in your truck you'll probably want a belt light.

Get you a Competition Light Connection belt light and you wont have to worry about that problem. I would bet I could tell you what one of your lights is.......send me a PM with the brands and see if I am right on one of them............Tim

I KNOW I'VE HAD A BLAZER 21 FOR GOIN ON 7 YEARS WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS SEEMS LIKE THEIRS A LIGHT ON EVERY CORNER NOW. I DON'T KNOW THE BLAZER GUYS FROM A HOUSE CAT BUT I DO KNOW MY LIGHT HAS BEEN GOOD TO ME. I BOUT MADE THE MISTAKE OF GETTING ANOTHER COMPANY'S LITE AND I ASK A FEW PEOPLE AND THEY ALL TALKED ABOUT HAVING TO SEND THEM BACK BECAUSE OF SWITCHES,AND BATTERY'S SHORTING OUT. I'M LIKE YOU THOUGH FOR $400 THEY SHOULD BE PUT TOGETHER LIKE A WELL MADE WATCH.

I do not use or even own a spotlight. Only the standard heads.

What it boils down to, and what I meant to say is I had a light in mind of what it was, and just wanted to see if I was right ( for MY satisfaction )...........Thank you for your concern.........Tim
