how's everyone's hunting going

It seems that something is different out in the woods, coons are running alot further than they were and tracks are colder. Hunting early because of work, maybe there running late. How's everyone else doing?

Put on top of a litter a couple nights ago.
All other tracks have been long and cold for a couple of weeks.
Treed two possums right in a row last night with the pup.
Very dry up here.

Around here most of these coons go up real quick but lately seems like every track is a long one. I got a theory on this. The corn is in the sweetcorn stage now and they are gorgeing themselves on it. Corn at that stage is all sugar and starch. I think they get jacked up on all that sugar and want to run. Kinda like kids when they get too much sugar. This is my first crack at being a therorist so I could be wrong but I usually ain't.

They've been easy to tree here in MO lately.

Had a short night last night since the boy was with me and it was a school night but we treed two singles and were home by 10:15 pm. Tracking might be a little easier since the rains we got about a week ago, but hunting has been pretty decent for several weeks since the corn came on.

Its hard being so humble when your always right....huh Jim??

Like Bruce said, Its drier than a popcorn fart here.....This dry weather seems to seperate the trackdogs from the rest.

Still getting coon treed, It has been taking longer though.....

Went Wens. night.Struck a track and the coon jumped in the lake and got away.
Called him back in,drove to another spot, treed one in about 15 minutes.Good track.

Went last night.First deal,he made about 3 barks and slammed the tree.Couldn't find it.Great big poplar, lots of vines.
Sent him again and he ran a deer.Fried him.
Then he got treed way out of hearing.(treeing switch was going off.)
Drove around,he had 3 kittens.

In south central oklahoma....

its been exceedingly dry this year, I have never seen the cimarron this low.....but we got a good 3-4 day soft rain, hit and miss...it aint done a whole lot for water levels, but a lil easier treein coon....gettin either kittens, or long runnin coon, more runnin coon than anything......gettin pairs of grown coon, not sure why.....but overall its gettin better......
