Agreed!!!

i havnt hunted in 2 weeks because the coon are just flat out not moving. I think it has been too warm myself. Now that its getting colder and that moon is going away we plan on starting again.

Im from Miamisburg, Ohio btw, and we hunt in New Carlisle, Eaton, and Germantown.

I didnt either, we have had some good sweet corn races when it was in the mid 90s, of course, it dosent take long to wear a dog out in that weather but the coon were still moving

In Texas heat

The coon just change their schedule for getting a drink of water and finding food. This time of year I can't imagine where it's too hot ANYWHERE in this country for the coon to be moving.

We've been making just one drop hunts every night we've hunted lately, due to long work schedules and not wanting to be out long, but we've treed at least one coon on those drops everytime. So either the coon are moving fine or I've got a couple of great lay up dogs!

It was too warm because the coons have their winter pelts and many layers of fat and we didn't have winter temperatures.

Actually, I think it has more to do with the urge to sleep or lay-up for awhile. They always seem to start moving better after the first real cold snap.

In ohio you can turn a dog loose everynight of the year and tree a coon. If you have a dog that is willing to go until treed, there is always a coon moving around here at sometime. I have treed them on 90 degree nights, and on the other hand I have treed them when it was -10 out.

I've found they are just moving a short ways along the brooks etc, dog has had to get in deep run a short cold track, ain't gonna tree one with any hot nosed close hunter.
