Single puppy registration ?
I've got a new black lab female that I would like to run in HRC events with but she's not from a UKC registered litter. Both parents are UKC registered and I have copies of the UKC pedigree and reg #'s but they are also AKC registered and that is where the litter was registered.
I have already completed the AKC registration process now what do I need to do for UKC registration? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Print out our Application for Single Registration from our website, complete it and send it in to us, along with the fee, which is $28.00.
Thank you for the quick response. Do I also need to include copies of the AKC pedigree or the UKC pedigree for the parents or do I need to hand write all 3 generations on the application?
Again, thank you and please excuse me if these are redundant questions.. I just want to make sure I send everything needed the 1st time..
We need a copy of the AKC Registration Certificate.
As far as the pedigree is concerned, you can send in a copy of the pedigree information. If you send in a copy, you do not need to hand write the information in.
Thank you very much.. I'll put the packet in the mail today..
You're welcome. Have a great day!
OK.. So now I have a new problem that I'm hoping someone can assist me with..
So I sent in the single puppy registration with "Rush" service.. The UKC charged my card the correct amount.. Ok.. I figure my registration is on the way.. Wrong..
I get a letter today telling me I can't register the pup until she's at least 1 y/o (she's 8 mo) because her litter wasn't registered.. Telling me to contact the breeder and ask them to register the litter or get a letter from them.. The breeder registered the litter with the AKC..
Now I might be able to understand this except for the fact that both her sire and dam are registered both UKC and AKC.. When I sent in the required paperwork (pup's AKC pedigree) I also sent copies of the parents UKC pedigree and UKC registration #'s..
Now will someone please tell me why this pup can't be registered with the UKC without a letter from the breeder? Also, why would the UKC charge my acct and not complete the registration?
This is my first dog I've attempted to register with the UKC.. Mainly because HRC tests are fairly close in the area I now live.. This type of run around is enough to make me think twice..
Thanks in advance for any help you can offer..
We always put the money on as that way we have something on record showing that we did in fact receive the work.
Breeder's have up until their litter is 1 year of age to register the litter with us. That's why we must wait till the pup is 1 year of age before we'll register it in your name, or receive a signed statement from the breeder stating that they have no intention of registering the litter before we can process your application.
Thanks for the explanation.. I spoke with the breeder this morning and he is going to write the letter for me.. He said in the past he has registered litters from this same pairing but has since gone with AKC only but didn't say why..
OK. Just return the letter we sent you along with the signed letter from the breeder and we should be all set, assuming that was the only problem listed on the letter we sent you.
