Problems with my garmin gps

I just got my new garmin the other day and tried it out and worked good but started messing up when I was getting ready to turn it off. I just had it out and had the collar next to me outside and it was telling me the it was in the other direction saying it was treed then it was running then it was 10 yards then 80 yards and kept changing directions never did settle one where the collar was....any suggestions on how to fix it???

It won't be accurate when it is within a few feet of you.

Put it out about 20-30 yards and I bet it's OK.

Mine just says "near" when it's too close to be accurate. It says "treed" when they are still for so long.

The compass won't point in the right direction unless you calibrate it either. Once calibrated it will point the right way.

I never use the compass page anyway, I just use the map and it shows me right where she is at in relation to me.

Backwoods

I had this very thing happen one time. I recalibrated my compass & it hasn't happened since.

From my experience, the "problems" with the garmin for the most part are user error, not product defect or inadequacy.

Charging hook ups and the wire from the GPS sensor on the collar to the transmitter coming unplugged are the main problems I have heard about that weren't due to the learning curve of the system.

Mine has been very dependable.
