Freak of nature

2 guineas and one cat, they loaf together all day every day. and when they go to roost, he climbs the tree with them and stays until they come down.

Blueboy, his friend was a hound dog , he ate with the dog and spent all his time In an apple tree over the dog, until the dog passed. Then he stayed In the tree a week or two, then he took up with the Guineas, and he has been with them about a year now. he don't have to eat corn the wife keeps his bowl full of food, he eats better than I do.

Two guineas roosters, and a tom cat, all strays they just took up with us.

I had a runt pig left from a sow that took to a hound and her pups and she accepted him. Funny to see the pups and pig playing and sleeping together. Just goes to show you that never look on the outside but whats inside that counts for friends.

You know Heather, I've thought about that. Don't know the life span of guineas or cats, the guineas are at least 10 years old, but the cat Is about 1 and a half, If one of the guineas dies guess It will be cat and and one bird for a while. Oh heck It's getting to sad to even think about It.

Take care Heather

Hmmm....

Edward... I had a trio of guinea fowl here for about a week../ Had a friend that needed to rehome them BUT... they took off with the turkeys...LOL... For a long time the neighbors were all talking about the ODD birds that were wandering around... Eventually someone else took them in and SECURED them.... I loved them alot. Cool birds BUT we were NOT set up to keep them here... I never did find out how long they live? I had chicken hens here in there thirties... I still miss the old gals. ALL my chickens are old now and so are all the cats.... we DO have one very young duck(BOBs new friend...LOL)
Hate to see them get old. Fascintating to see the cat take up with different friends... one of our cats, Tigger, grew up with our German Shep. dogs and used to "nurse" on one of the females... when the GSDs died I got my first greyhound a MALE... Tigger would "Nurse" on him and knead with her claws and he would Cringe and tolerate it... She LOVED the dogs... TILL... I got my bluedawg... the kitty killer supreme... She and the other cats sit at the basement door and I KNOW she WANTS to meet the hounds...SO far I've been able to keep her safe... I think Tigger thinks she's a dog....
I hope you cat and fowl live MANY more years!
Have a GREAT night, Heather
