Charley Creek Clay
What can anybody tell me about this dog? Is he still alive
What style of hound was he was he a hard huntin dog or a close huntin dog and what is he puttin in his pups? Is this line of dogs good natured and easy handling? Thanks
I was thinking that Dick Brothers owns or owned him. Maybe I am wrong, Dick lives in Northern Indiana. Thats all I know.

CLAY
I have also hunted with clay a few times he is a very nice hound that most anyone would like, also his owner Dick Brothers is one of the best guys around and knows what a coon dog is. If clay was not the right kind Dick would not have kept him around all these years..

Might be a little off for this post, but Dick Brothers was the first coon hunter to shake my hand after a cast. It is amazing how such a little gesture sticks with ya through the years.

There's so much truth to that Larry. I've hunted against Mr.Brothers before and he won the cast. Yet all night long he comended me on my little female which was first loser. Great man with a great hound will never brag about himself or his hound, others will do it for him!
I owned a 9 yr. old Nt. Ch. son of Clay that got killed in a bizarre dog chain entanglement last April. The dog was a nice one with an excellent disposition. I have spoken to the Brothers' and they are nice people.

Thanks for the response
btt Is he a go yonder type dog or hunt what you put him in and what are his pups like
caly and pups
Clay is a go yonder get split have the coon kind of dog, i personally owned 2 different pups off clay and they started very easy had good mouths, were naturally independent with good mouths. I am good friends with Chris Rugg who owns Charly Creek Edge, he is out of clay and a very nice dog, very independent and very accurate, he will tree coon right in front of you or go a mile to get it done. I also am friends with Jeff Eaken and he owns one of off Charly creek Stone who was off of clay Stone was one of the nicest dogs you could ask for Good looking, big mouth and a coon dog,,clay is also passing on his reproduction abuilitys, because i have bread to edge also with very good results and to ransom the male the Jeff owns who is off from stone, with very good results. If you would like i am sure we could set something up to hunt with both edge and ransom and you could talk with Chris and Jeff about what they think about Clay and his pups. You should also give Dick a call and talk with him he wont always tell you what you want to here but he will tell you the truth.
