wont leave....
i got a 15 month old pup that hasnt been hunted but 8 or ten times.. I mostly hunt with 3 more dogs not counting in mine.. The first nite that i took the dog out i knew that he hadnt been hunted alot, we cut the dogs loose and he went, struck and treed 3 times that nite. 2 dens and one coon.. i thouht 175 wasnt bad for a registered dog that was paid up.. now that hes mine i cant get him to go huntin.. even with the other dogs.. He will go out 50 yards and come back to my feet.. But if hes standing around and he hears the dogs he will break his neck to get to the dogs.. and will pick up on what there doing.. tracking or treeing.. and suggestions??
when he comes back leash him. dont let him me to. get him a caged coon or two let him do it by him self. then praise him up for it. should help.

ok
Thanks, So will he grow out of not going by hiself? or just take time in the woods
He is having fun hanging around with you. The next time he comes back put him back in the dog box. Don't praise or scold him, just grab him and put him up. Most dogs it only takes once.

I wouldn't put him in the dog box, but tie him up to a tree by the truck, or truck if its off the road. Take off into the dogs trailing or treeing. The dog will probably go nuts, don't say a word to him or show him any attention. If he has any brains your problem should be solved it two or three nights. Good luck whatever route you take.
