dog box question

I have traded my truck for an explorer. Will the boxes for small trucks fit in the back of an explorer? Or do they make a box that will fit in SUV's? Just wondering about this. Give me some feedback on the subject! Thanks in advance.

Couldn't tell you for sure

The one Explorer I have had experience with, the whole tail gate did not raise up. There is like a foot from the floor to the bottom of the door jam. Don't know if you could open the box doors. If it has a top lid, it will hit the roof before you get it open far enough to get into it.

well, my tailgate raises up, so that wouldn't cause a problem. Was even thinking of maybe a bottom pull outdrawer for storage so that I would be able to get to it. Emailed houndsmen deluxe to see if they have anything like that or could make me something. I have a box 46 x 46 houndsmen deluxe w/ top storage that I am trying to sell now. Like the kind of box they build though.

i think I'd get a receiver mounted platform, like they make for hauling bikes, wheel chairs, large boxes, etc. If they crap in your box, and it's in your Explorer you might have the winders down 4 a week lol.

BEEN THERE! DONE THAT! In our Explorer. Our regular size box wouldn't fit, my dad's beagle box was also too wide. There isn't enough room between the interior panels for them. What you could do is call someone that is willing to special make a box. Regal will, and also Mark Baer in Fredricksburg (sp?), Ohio. I talked with him about making one for my New Dodge, after putting in a roll bar, (it's a 5 1/2 foot bed), that a normal size box will be too deep. He said he can work around it. GOOD LUCK!!

I talked to a lady at houndsmen deluxe the other night and she said that they have a bottom storage box that is 38 wide and 30 tall and I measured and that should fit. I also know a fella that is a seller for owens and they have a bottom storage(drawer) box that is 38 wide and I think he said 25 tall. They both should fit. My current box is a houndsmen deluxe and I like it and would like to stay with that brand, but am open to suggestions. The owens was quoted to cost around 725... that is outrageous for a dog box!!

1 skunk and your interior is a goner every time
it rains you will smell skunk
