Met this young man this past weekend at the nationals and his dog Belle but this young fella is quite the sportsman! when he first came up to me at the nationals Friday and introduced himself i liked him right off the bat cause he was so friendly and some people just come off immediately as friendly and genuine. we chatted for awhile then went our seperate ways.
my initial thoughts of this fella later proved to be correct. he came over to me right before the deadline to confirm and told me congratulations on my win. puzzled i asked...."What Win?" he said he was not confirming belle cause he did not want to mess up anybody's cast w/Belle coming in heat.
now he only lives 40 miles fr salem but u hunters tell me .......how many of us would have tried to mask the odor of a female when it is a major hunt and we were there to hunt? i am not so sure what my answer would be on this to be honest but this young gentleman showed this old guy that true sportsmanship is still alive and well!
i wish Clinton all the best of luck in the future and if he sticks w/the sport i am sure he will have much success in the future and be one of those rare individuals who nobody will have a hard word about.
he does not get on these boards but if u should run into him u will have run into a really nice and honest fella. this sport of ours could use more gentlemen like clinton at all ages.
