Fire Department

So let's say you have a local Volunteer Fire Department...

You don't donate to the fire department, you don't volunteer, and you don't even attend their fish dinners. But you want them there, when you need them.

And if there is a fire at your house, they don't say well he doesn't help us, so we won't help him. No, they go fight your fire just like everyone else's, because that's what they do! Now, they may only show up with a few guys, and one truck with an old worn out pump, because that's all they have and all they can afford, but they show up nonetheless!

Now let me ask you... in this scenario, do you wait to see if they show up, before you decide whether you will support them in the future? Do you judge them on their old equipment and limited personnel, because folks like you hadn't previously supported them? Or perhaps your pride prevents you from even calling them, and you let your house burn to the ground??? After all, your house is probably insured and you can buy or build another one!

But our sport is not insured, if it's taken away it will be gone forever!
