Carnivore

Those are running dogs, some have a little potlicker to give them a little more nose and a little more "tree". I take my blueticks down there just to keep them "cat minded" and they run right with the running dogs. There is a huge difference between a dog looking to tree and a dog that is genuinely trying to catch on the ground.
We were lion hunting in the Trans-Pecos last week and between Joe and I we had 20 hounds. We wanted enough for at least two packs as the rock is tough on feet. We had a lion bayed up on a bluff but when the dogs got a little too aggressive, she jumped 25-30 feet and left our flatland dogs on the bluff. If the dogs were more experienced, they would have known how to go to the end of the bluff and get down to resume the race. I told Joe the only way to educate these dogs is to put them in that rough country regularly.
Thanks and Adios,
Gary
