Lakeland's Lucky Penny Video
Here is a video clip of my English female Penny treeing a coon last night. Really, nothing special, the usual when hunting Penny. She is retired to pup training duties.
Penny is 10 years old and surely has treed me over 1000 coon. She is the 6th generation of her line I have owned on her sire's side and is out of Curly Sue, a real good female out of Randy Gipson's English coon hounds. Bobby Reynolds, if you are reading this, Penny is a grand daughter of Tom Tom. Bobby, Penny is as good as her grandmother, Dual Grand Champion Campus Creek Dolly that you hunted with one night.
The best night I ever had with Penny was one night my hunting buddy Ivan Elder parked his truck on one end of a section and I parked my truck on the other. We walked a mile and a half through. Penny treed 7 times, 3 singles and 4 doubles. We carried 7 coon out that night and left 4 up.
I have had lots of good nights with Penny. On those cold and frosty nights when the tracking is poor, Penny just starts smelling trees until she finds the coon. She makes it look easy.
Thanks for letting an old man talk about his old coon dog.
