The National Weather Service in Norman has issued an Excessive Heat Warning until 10 p.m. Thursday.

*The ongoing heat wave continues the threat of heat related illnesses and possible death.

* The Heat Index will reach 110° in the afternoon. Morning lows will provide little relief as lows will range from upper 70’s to mid 80’s. The heat stress will be amplified by the persistence of the hot weather.

* Risk of heat related illnesses will continue through at least next week. Check on friends, family and pets often.
