the infamous vote...

heres a few questions....

last drop...2 dogs tied up...15 mins or so left...

cut em and 2 bark and are struck off the lead...3rd dog never gets struck in...the 2 struck in babbled all nite but the handlers did good and didnt strike them in on it and they shut up within the minute..no problem with that...but they knew if they needed the most points on that drop to win the tie..

this drop, the 2 dogs NEVER barked again...about 20-30 seconds after they struck they start the 8...about 10 seconds before the 8 is up, 1 handler says "oh i hear my dog that way..." 2nd handler who struck says "oh ya i can hear it" i cant say a word...i cant hear a dog but 2 can...my guide couldnt hear either...so they break the 8 (and avoid minus so they can win)

i did say something about they struck on a babble but the judge, who struck first, grumbled something...

anyways, it was 2 against 1...i lost the hunt due to them striking on a babble...the 2nd dog later told the guide that he knew they were babbling like they did all night but didnt want to take 3rd strike...

funny enough the dog was actually treed in the position the handler said he heard a dog...but, its MY woods...i know its impossible to hear a dog in that direction that far over the hill...end of the story..


anything i could have done?? i got out voted...moh wasnt there he cant do much....


also, having an independent dog is biting me in the rear!! i have had 2 TRUE SLICK trees circled in 2 different hunts, both costing me the CW...were talking winter time in PA...not a leave or anything on a tree...

1 judge even told me "that coon aint up that tree but he could went anywhere.." i got UPSET...

i told them both times show me a coon and i'll plus it...show me a hole or place of refuge or place we simply cannot see that a coon could be hidden and i'll circle it...but till then my vote is slick and minus em up!

but when i got 2-3 of their dogs on a tree, and mine is off treed on her own, they circle slick trees!

its actually disgusting me to the point im about to throw in the towel and quit hunting in the nite hunts...grown men cant play honestly and fairly??? circling a tree thats obviously slick??? striking in on a babble and dogs never opening again and not minusing the tracks??? its ridiculous...

i dont think ANYTHING can be done...i can complain till im blue in the face but thats about it when im getting out-voted....either suck it up and hope my dog is twice as good as theirs to make up for the cheating and lying...or quit hunting the nite hunts...

but figured i'd post and see if maybe i am missing something...or if i just gotta deal with it....

all 3 cases cost me the CW when the nite was over...and all 3 were done just to avoid taking minus...

and y'all might argue "if your dog was at those slick trees you wouldnt be complaining!" but actually i would have voted to minus em up...had a BIG pin oak the other nite i couldnt find a hole or coon i told the judge i couldnt show the cast either and would take my minus....one of the casts the 2 dogs slicked and the judge admitted the coon wasnt up that tree, we went and scored mine...SAME tree just 100yds away..same size same vines(actually more and actually leading to other trees...) and they didnt even vote..just minused my tree because i said i couldnt show them a coon or den hole...

so dont bring that argument up...i'll take my minus when my dog comes up short or leaves a tree or whatever...my dogs wont win a hunt or title they didnt deserve so long as i am handling them....
