help with 3yr old walker

i just got a 3yr old female walker she is a runner the min she knows she is not tied she is gone will not stop and the last owner told me she would run of for three or more days there is no stopping her can any one help me i would like to turn her into a hunting dog but her not obeying is the issue
if i cant get her to listen then she will be just a breeder hate to do that help please
