Electric cattle fencing and pups

I was just wandering what everybodys thoughts were on electric fence and young dogs. About everyone around here uses Hi-tensile electric fencing for their livestock fence that is super hot. I have always worried about a young dog or old dog for that matter getting zapped. Would it ruin his/her chances of becoming a coondog.
