last nights hunt
we were out hunting on a wma around a lake with our 2 walker dogs T and blade. we turned lose , and with in 40 min the young dog T treed, but we couldn't find the coon. we turned both dogs down the hill. then both oppened up a time or 2 and then T and Blade hit the edge of the lake. I heard a lot of splashing around in a cove in front of us . i went ahead to grab the dogs. I got to the cove and found T about that time my dad and brother came through the briars and Blade set in treeing up a storm way out in front of us. We started to try and get to blade we went to the next cove over and thats when we relized BLADE SWAM THE MAIN CHANNEL of the lake about 200 yards . we found his tracks going to the water. we left him there and took my little brother home. we went back trying to find him on the other side of the lake but there arn't any roads to there. we decided we would find a boat in the mourning . we arose early to find my uncle who works nights at a factory in town. he was more than happy to take me on the lake being that he use to coon hunt. we got to the lake and Blade was still exactly where we left him. he wasnt treeing every breath but he was still treed. We found were that coon had climbed up that Tree cossed over onto a little ceader tree and then onto the 200 ft blough above us. we figered he had a den up there somewhere. Kinda hard for me to belive that old dog swam that lake and then stayed treed for 10 hours. I kinda felt bad for the old guy missen the coon.
