World Final Cast Play by Play

Good evening from Elizabeth, Illinois; site of the UKC World Championship Finals! We've had a great Finals weekend thus far. We're down to four undefeated hounds who just left the grounds headed out about twenty miles to make their first drop of the night in this Final Cast of the World Hunt.

The FC left at approximately 7:45 pm local time. They should be making their first drop within thirty minutes. The current temp here in northwestern Illinois around 60 degrees. Perfect night!

Who's gonna take the first strike?

Apprx. 8:40 pm -

The FC has arrived at their first spot. They are getting their instructions and will be ready to cut 'em loose in a matter of minutes!

8:50 pm -

Jess - struck for 100
Son - struck for 75
Pearl - struck 50
Hannah - 25

-

Hannah treed for 125
Pearl and Jess split tree points @ 62 1/2 each.

This was a quick one!

The five is up and the cast is on their way in to the tree. Son is running.

Wow! That didn't take long. Plus 'em up!

Hannah and Jess both struck back in for 25.

Son declared treed for 125.

Jess and Hannah are trailing in deep behind Son.

Hannah declared treed for 125.
Jess declared treed for 75.

They are split from Son. Time is still running on both trees.

Circle Son's tree. They're on there way to Hannah and Jess.

The cast has stepped off to the side to listen for Pearl. No Pearl. Son, Jess and Hannah are recast. All strike positions open.

Hannah struck in for 100
Son - 75
Jess - 50

Still no Pearl.

Rob Wallen treed Jess for 125.
Son treed for 75.
Hannah treed for 50.

Still no Pearl.

Times up on the tree. Cast is heading in.

Uh, oh. Son left the tree and is minused.

Plus Jess and Hannah!

Jess and Hannah are recast to Son.

There she is! Pearl struck in for 50.

Jess and Hannah struck in for 25.

Hannah declared treed in quick fashion.

Son treed second for 75 followed by Jess for 50. Pearl is also heard treeing in deep but not declared treed.

Cast arrives at tree and finds Hannah on previously scored tree and her strike and tree points are deleted.

Son and Jess are on a separate tree and moved up to:
Son -125
Jess -75

While cast is shining tree, Seth Isch declares Pearl treed in deep for 125.

Son and Jess are circled. Two is put on Pearl. Two gets her and is minused. Pearl is heard trailing and Hannah, Jess and Son are recast. Pearl is declared treed for 125. Hannah is struck back in for 25 with a line under it. Son struck in for 25 with a line under it. Jess struck in for 25 with a line under it. Pearl is in deep and keeps hushing.

The two has now been applied to Pearl.

Kellam tells me there is now less than thirty minutes remaining in this Final Cast. Stay tuned.

Pearl went back to treeing again. The two is lifted and the cast is headed in to her.

The Pearl female has a coon and is plussed.

Right now I unofficially have:

Hannah - 450+
Jess - 437 1/2+
Pearl - 162 1/2+
Son - 75-

Whoa Nelly!

Anything can happen in ten minutes in this part of the country!

One dog has been declared treed.

Uh - oh. Lost cell reception.

Back in service again! It was Hannah who was declared treed for 125. However.........she left the tree and was minused.

I don't know the whole scoop but Hannah was in fact re-treed. The hunt is over but Hanah's tree still needs to be scored. That's where we're at. I have not heard how her tree was scored.

This will certainly make a difference in who wins the cast. Wow. This is crazy for it to come down like this at the end. The cast should be on their way back in to the grounds right now. Looks like we're stuck not knowing the outcome until they arrive at the grounds. Should be very soon.
